Many times knowing and using test taking skills can be the difference between passing and failing or getting OK results verses better or great results. Skills to take a test can be learned and should be learned by everyone.
Studying prior to taking any test is very wise and should increase your confidence level. Stressing over taking a test is common even if you know or think you will pass. Try not to stress and to keep these tips in mind.
1) On most tests any questions that are left blank are not counted. Therefore you should try to answer all questions even if you have to use an educated guess.
2) In your mind try and figure out the correct answer first before you look at any of the answers. This should help you find the best one. If none of the multiple choice questions do not seem correct then you should make sure to eliminate all answers that are highly unlikely and then choose an answer from one of the remaining questions.
Study guides are usually high level overviews assuming you have already been through the main material.
To help you prepare sample questions are most likely going to be a part of most study guides. Practice tests and questions should be comparable to those you will find on the actual test. In fact some study guides may include old exam questions.
Test prep is essential and as such the majority of study guides will include practice questions. These can usually be located at the completion or ending of sections or chapters.
